A unique dining experience in the heart of the historic Clarence Hollow.
The Hollow Bistro & Brew was established in 2010, in a building which has a long history in the Clarence Hollow. Built in 1804, it was the site of the first private school in Erie County; the Clarence Classical School. In the 1890's, the building was moved to its current site, in order to make way for the railroad that crossed Main Street. Before the Bistro was established, the building was a bakery, a hardware store, the original location of the Clarence Deli, and an The Heart of the Hollow ice cream parlor.
The Hollow Bistro is owned and operated by the Yu Family, with Katie (Yu) Stahlka as the Partner/General Manager. Upon opening, the bistro quickly became a popular spot for locals, travelers and those looking for a unique place to eat quality food. It has become a destination for people from far and wide.
In order to accommodate the growing numbers of guests, the decision was made to expand the original business. In May of 2016, a new dining room, patio and, a private event room were added. The restaurant is furnished with classic Asian-American décor, using bamboo, Chinese panels, and various Asian antiques, selected specifically from Katie's Travels to China.
The Hollow Bistro & Brew is now able to accommodate larger groups and private events in it's spacious addition, while still maintaining the quaint, cozy atmosphere of the original bar area.
